What is KaWink?
KaWink is a dating app created for Nigerians in Naija and in the UK, US and Canada – plus anyone who genuinely loves Naija culture. We help you meet people who actually get your lifestyle, slang and values.
Where is KaWink available?
Our first launch will focus on Naija, the UK, US and Canada. If you live elsewhere, you can still join the waitlist so we know where to launch next.
How does messaging work on KaWink?
You can only message people once you’ve both liked each other – that’s a match. This helps reduce random or unwanted messages. All chats stay inside the app, and you can mute, block or report anyone if you ever feel uncomfortable.
What are KaWink Boost and Premium?
During our early access phase, KaWink is completely free to use – there is no Boost or Premium yet.
In the future, we may add optional paid features (like boosting your profile or seeing more insights about your matches), but the basic ability to create a profile and match will remain free.
How does matching work on KaWink?
You create a profile, set your location and preferences, and we show you potential matches. When you both like each other, it becomes a match and you can start chatting.
Who can join KaWink?
Adults aged 18+ who are looking for genuine connections, are respectful of others and are happy to be part of a Naija-centred community.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Once deleted, your profile and matches will no longer be visible in the app
Can I match with non-Nigerians on KaWink?
Yes. KaWink is centred on Naija culture, but non-Nigerians are welcome as long as they respect that vibe. You can match with anyone who fits your preferences and is in one of our launch regions.
Do I have to pay for KaWink or is it free?
KaWink is completely free to join. In future, we may introduce optional paid features, but the basic ability to create a profile and match will remain free.
Will you charge me without asking?
No. If we ever introduce paid plans, you’ll see clear pricing and you’ll have to actively choose a plan before any payment is taken.
How do I delete my data or account?
You can delete your account from the app settings. When you do, your profile and matches will no longer be visible to other members. Some information may be kept for a short time for safety, legal or fraud-prevention reasons, but we don’t keep your data longer than we need to
What information can other members see about me?
Other members only see the details you choose to share on your profile – for example your first name, age range, location area (not your full address), photos and short bio. Your email address and contact details are never shown publicly.
Can I control what I share on my profile?
Yes. You decide which photos to upload and what to write in your bio and prompts. You can edit or remove this information at any time from your profile settings.
How do I block and report?
Users can block or report another user by going to the Members page.
Then click the three-dots icon on the user card.
In the dropdown menu, select Block or Report.
Users can also choose Hide from search
